There Will Be AI At The Olympics

it’s a sign of the times…

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are on the horizon with the event kicking off on 26 July and ending on 11 August.

A few new sporting codes are coming this year but as it is 2024, AI hasn’t been left behind.

NBC, the official broadcast partner of the games has stated that AI will play a big part in its coverage. From personalised AI-generated daily recaps to an AI version of legendary sportscaster Al Michaels (I wonder if it bugs out and he gets caught saying something wild).

The streaming platform, Peacock will also have multi-screen live coverage in the app so that you can watch multiple streams simultaneously to ensure you don’t miss any of the action.

It Might Not Be A Flipping Good Time?

gear up for samsung unpacked on 10 july…

According to early reports and leaks, the new foldables set to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event taking place on 10 July are going to be nothing more than performance bumps with no real visual changes.

This is disappointing as we are now on the 6th iteration of Samsung’s Z Fold and Z Flip. If there is going to be any buy-in from the consumer, this is the space that Samsung needs to innovate and come up with something fresh.

I understand that innovation and design refreshes come at a premium and foldables are not yet a revenue driver for the manufacturer. These devices are usually between 25 - 35% more expensive than the Galaxy S line of devices.

This category has the potential to shake up smartphone design and create real individuality for consumers but with lacklustre features like sub-par camera performance and a lack of proper app support, foldables could be permanently shelved in the mind of consumers.

I won’t buy a foldable device until they figure out how to diminish the pretty visible crease in the middle of the display.

A Visual For ‘Not Like Us’

is k.dot just milking it now?

Last Friday (5 July), Kendrick Lamar dropped the music video for his hit Drake diss ‘Not Like Us’.

The video is full of visual jabs that go alongside the verbal hooks directed at Drizzy, but some people are saying that it’s been a couple of weeks since the beef died down so it seems like k.dot is just milking it right now.

I get that but on the other side of the coin, this is still a hit song and it’s par for the course for an artist to release a video for a hit song.

The visuals show off Kendrick’s hood and how much love the city has for the LA native.

My favourite moment from the video is when Kendrick delivers the line ‘… and it's probably A-Minor” while playing a game of Hopscotch. LOL!

lol

The video is currently sitting on over 33 million views after 4 days on YouTube.
