The US TikTok Might Actually Happen
the decision could still go to the supreme court though…

A federal appeals court has dealt a significant blow to TikTok's future in the US, upholding a law that requires the Chinese-owned social media giant to sell its assets to a non-Chinese company or face a ban by January 19th.
The ruling is the latest chapter in a long-running dispute over national security concerns sparked by TikTok's Chinese ownership. The court's decision assigns the burden to TikTok's millions of US users to find alternative platforms, citing China's "hybrid commercial threat" to US national security.
TikTok has vowed to appeal the decision to the US Supreme Court, arguing that divesting the entity is impractical and that the ban is based on inaccurate information, which would amount to censorship of American users. The company has faced intense scrutiny in recent years, including lawsuits, congressional hearings, and state-level bans. Montana was the first to attempt a ban before a judge blocked it. The fate of TikTok in the US now hangs in the balance, with millions of users eagerly awaiting the outcome of this appeal.
If this does happen, how do you think this will affect TikTok globally?
